프랑스 파리에서 떼제베를 타고 도착한 제네바.
(After Paris tour, I got to Geneve)
원래 스위스에서는 도시에서는 머무를 계획이 없었지만 제네바만큼은 둘러봐야겠다고 생각을했다.
(Actually cities were not included in my plan but I've decided to look around in Geneva)
바로 유엔을 비롯한 많은 국제기구들이 있기 때문이다.
(Because there are a lot of international organisations like UN)
아래사진은 제네바를 거쳐 숙소에 가기 위해 머물렀던 몽트뢰 라는곳..
(The following pictures were taken in Montreux where I stayed for one night)
제네바 호수는 호수를 끼고 달리는 기차가 2시간여나 달릴 정도로 매우 큰 호수였다.
(Gneve lake is as big as a train which runs along the lake takes more than two hours)
인어공주?? 는 아닐테고....
(Mermaid?? No.... ^^;;)

맑고 고요한 제네바 호수. 여느 스위스의 호수처럼 에메랄드 빛깔을 띠지 않았다.
(This lake is clean and tranquil and the colour is not Emerald like other lakes in Switzerland)

그 전날 방문한 제네바.
(I visited Geneva before coming to Montreux)
유엔청사 맞은편에 거대한 의자상이 서 있다.
(There's a huge chair across the UN organisation)
저 밑에 자전거와 근처에 서 있는 사람들을 보면 얼마나 거대한 의자상인지 짐작이 간다.
(You can guess how big is this when you see people and the bicycle)

저렇게 다리를 일부러 부러뜨린듯 만든 이유는... 가이드 설명을 들었는데 정확하게 기억은 안나지만.. 평화.. 공존.. 등을 상징하는 것이라고 했다. 아마 불완전한 세상을 위해 서로 협력하고 평화롭게 지내라.. 뭐.. 그런 의미였던것 같다.
프랑스 국적 예술가의 작품.
(The reason why one leg is broken is , I can't remember guide's explanation, it symbolizes peace, coexistence etc. Maybe the world is not perfect and unstable so each country have to cooperate and be peaceful... like that.

관광온 중국인에게 부탁해서 찍은 사진..

국제기구에 까지는 아니더라도 최소한 평등한 세상과 모든 인간이 존중되어지는 사회를 위해 일하고 싶다.
(Not for working in Internationa organisation, at least I want to work for even world and the society that all people are respected)

기념품 상점에서 발견한 엽서들.. 이많은 국가들이 UN의 멤버들이다.
(I found them in the souvenir shop. All of these countries are members of UN)

여기 제네바에 있는 국제기구 조직도.
(This is the United Nations System in Geneva)

이곳에 들어와 10프랑을 주면 가이드 투어를 시켜준다. 안전요원이 가이드 투어 때문에 왔냐고 물어보는데 나는 아니라고 대답하자 그러면 여기 왜 왔냐고 약간 어이없어 하던 요원. 그래서 가이드말고 혼자 다니는건 안되냐고 물어보니 불가능하다고 했다. 어쩔수 없어 10프랑을 주고 가이드 투어를 신청.
(They allow guided tour if I pay 10 FR. A security staff asked me to have a guided tour but I answered "no" so he asked me why I visited this place and gazed me in blank dismay. So I asked that I could look around alone but it was impossible. Unavoidably I paid 10FR and joined guided tour)

이곳 직원이 영어로 이곳저곳 안내를 하며 각종 회의실에 들어가 볼 수 있게 해준다. (확실히 원어민의 영어보다 비 원어민의 영어가 훨씬 알아듣기 쉽다.)
(One staff guided us and we can get into various kinds of conference room)

같아보이는듯 하지만 다른 회의실.. 저 위의 유리창너머에는 각 언어 통역사들이 동시 통역을 해주는데 영어, 불어, 러시아어, 중국어, 아랍어, 스페인 6개 국어가 지원이 된다고 한다.
외국에 오기 전까지 불어는 프랑스 사람들만 쓰는지 알았지만 프랑스도 한때 많은 식민지를 가지고 있어서 많은 국가(특히 아프리카 국가들)이 불어를 사용한다고 한다. 러시아어도 동유럽과 아시아 중동근처 국가들(카자흐, 우즈벡, 키르기 등등..)에 의해 많이 사용되어지고 있고, 스페인어야 남미 국가들 모두가 사용하니 두말할 필요도 없고, 아랍어도 중동 국가들에 사용되니 그렇다 쳐도 중국어는 정말 인구외에는 설명할 길이 없는것 같다.
(Looks like same but different conference room.. Beyond the window, eace translator translates the language, they are English, French, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and Spanish
Before coming to England, I thought that French is used only in France but they also had a lot of colonies like England (especially Afro-countries) so the colonized countries are still using French, though they are independent from France. Russian is also spoken many Eastern European countries and some Asian countries like Kazakh, Uzebek, Kyrgyz etc. Spanish is used in most of Southern American countries and Arabic also used in many middle east countries. And Chinese? There is no other way to explain why it is used in UN except for absolute power after America and the biggest population)

또다른 회의실과 회의실 벽면과 천장을 차지하는 벽화들..
(Another conference room and the wall pictures)

모두들 역동적인 그림이고 각 면마다 모두 나름의 의미를 가지고 있었다. 기억은 안난다. -_-;;
여행이 끝나면 빨리 기행문이나 일기를 쓰거나 아예 가이드 투어는 메모를 하면서 해야겠다.
(All of them are dynamic and each has its own meaning but I can't remember.. maybe I should have written the guide's explanation)

그림뿐만 아니라 여러가지 의미를 함축하고 있는 조각상이나 예술품들이 상당히 많더라.
(There are not only pictures but also meaningful sculptures)

제네바 호수에 있는 세계 최고 높이의 분수. 1360마력의 힘으로 무려 140m 높이 까지 뿜어져 나온다.
호수는 UN에서 멀리 떨어져 있지만 저 분수만큼은 또렷이 볼 수 있었다.
(This fountain is the highest in the world. It shoots up water with incredible force - 1360 horsepower, 140m

참.. 반기문 유엔 사무총장은 여기가 아니라 뉴욕에 있다.
물론 알고 있었지만 여기 있었더라도 썩 보고 싶지는 않았을 것이다. 코피아난 처럼 나름 행동력을 크게 보여주는 것도 아닌것 같고, 미국에 너무 끌려다니는 듯해서...... -_-;;
하지만 평화와 인류애를 위한 그 마음만은 항상 간직하고 주어진 여건내(?)에서 최대한 노력하시길 바란다.
(And... Ban Ki-Moon is in New York not here. Of course I knew that fact but I didn't want to see him though he stayed here. He's not decisive like Kofi Annan, former General and like marrionett of America.
But I hope him to have a mind for world peace and humanity and to do his best in a given situation)
